Duos Duet

Our story as Duos Duet began in 2017 when we, Niki Yaghmaee (violin and viola) and Golsana Shenasaei (cello), joined forces to bring our musical vision to life. At that time, we were both actively performing in various orchestras and taking on projects with contemporary and classical ensembles. Despite our commitments to these formal settings, we felt a strong pull toward a more personal and experimental form of musical expression. This desire led us to start busking in the streets of Tehran, where we could connect directly with the public, test the boundaries of our sound, and develop our voice as a duo. Our journey soon took us beyond Tehran, as we began performing in Tbilisi, Istanbul, Izmir, and Berlin, continually exploring new audiences and collaborating with international musicians, dancers, and visual artists.

Our music can best be described as a blend of cinematic, classical-world crossover, and experimental sounds. We infuse our classical backgrounds with the rich essence of our Iranian roots, using looping and computer-programmed music to craft immersive, dark, atmospheric soundscapes. Our approach results in music that stands out for its depth and emotional resonance.
